June 24, 2015 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

The American Diabetes Association works each and every day to imagine a life free of diabetes and all its burden. Red Striders are children and adults who have type 1, type 2 or gestational diabetes. If you are a Red Strider, YOU are the reason we walk and raise funds through Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes to help find the cause and cure of this “silent disease.”

On Wednesday, June 24, 2015, the National Capital Area Step Out Team will be hosting a Red Strider Meetup and Registration Rally at Fort Stanton Recreation Center. In collaboration with DC Parks & Recreation and Fit DC, this event is an opportunity for you to mingle with others that share a common bond, register for the Step Out Walk to Stop Diabetes on October 17 at the National Harbor, and take part in fun activities to get you prepped to step!

The agenda for the event is the following:

5:30 pm – 6:30 pm  Registration Rally (Check-in and register for Step Out Walk)

*Register for the walk to be eligible to win prizes*

6:00 pm Wellness Coaching & Fitness Tips from Charles Taylor

Fit DC Ward 8 Coach

6:30 pm FREE Community Zumba lead by Fort Stanton Recreation Center

Bring your family and friends to get fit and join the movement!

As a Red Strider you are a VIP because YOU are the reason we walk and raise funds to help Stop Diabetes®. Register today! You will be given your own personalized web page to tell your story and raise funds for the walk. You will also receive a special recognition gift on the day of your local walk and celebrate the courage it takes to live with diabetes every day!
